I thought I would do a some what fun post of the two stupidest myths I’ve heard around dog toys.
1. Playing Tug Will Turn Your Dog Into a Killer!!!!
This has got to make it to the top two, possibly the most ridiculous myth of all to do with dogs, not just toys. The fact almost all dogs play tug and enjoy tugging, regardless of temperament seems to of somehow become twisted.
The fact is dogs love to tug, it’s great fun and fantastic exercise and a great game two dogs can play together.
2. Squeaky Dog Toys Cause Aggression
I’m not even sure where to start with this one, I’m not really sure how anyone could of ever been around a dog for more than three seconds and not realised what rubbish this myth is.
Squeaky toys are a huge amount of fun and dogs absolutely love them.

With any myth to do with dog toys, or dogs in general just use your own common sense!
I completely agree with you. Both of these seem absurd. I am a pug and anyone who knows anything about ougs knows that we are quite the opposite of aggressive. I have no idea how people came up with that. That being said, the two things you mentioned above are two of my FAVORITES! They are also reviewed extensively on my site for the same reason (aka. I love them!!!). I don’t like many toys that don’t squeak. It’s more fun to play with them. Also, whenever As for tug, it is my favorite thing to do with my humans. I like it so much that after about three months of owning one tug toy when I had a little accident on it and soaked it up, the humans threw it away and bought me the exact same tug toy again. It is for sure one of our bonding activities and I am extremely thankful for it! So you are right- these myths are bogus and nothing but bogus!
